Dead Turtle Damaged with Plastic
One of the biggest obstacles that humanity struggles is plastic pollution. Plastic pollution in the waters have reached serious levels that put living creatures and environment in danger. Every year, there are more and more sea creatures that come ashore full of plastic materials.
In the near future, locals noticed a baby sea turtle came ashore in Florida. It died not long after it’s rescue. Upon investigation of scientists, 104 plastic pieces (bags, labels, bottle pieces, balloons and etc.) has been found to come out of dead baby turtle’s stomach.
Gumbo Limbo Natural Center shared the picture of heartbreaking dead baby turtle and the plastic waste found in it as a reminder of consequences of irresponsible human behaviors.
